Undercard and main event results from Wladimir Klitschko vs. Bryant Jennings:
In the main event, Wladimir “Dr. K” Klitschko scored a workmanlike decision over Bryant “By By” Jennings. Scores were 116-111 twice and 118-109. Jenkins tried extremely hard and had some moments as Klitschko seemed to tire. However, the combination of inexperience by Jennings and length of Klitschko proved to be a recipe for loss. In the televised undercard bout, Sadam Ali (22-0, 13 KOs) remained undefeated with a ten round unanimous decision over Francisco Santana (22-4-1, 11 KOs). Scores for the fight 97-93, 97-93, 100-90. The Fight Journal didn’t have the best seat in the house, but from our vantage point, the fight was closer, most certainly closer than 100-90. Santana pressed the action most of the night and he was effective with his aggression often in the fight.
It was easy work for heavyweight Charles Martin as he stayed unbeaten (21-0-1, 18 KOs) with a first round KO against Tom Dallas (17-5, 12 KOs). Dallas suffered a cut on his eye and Martin landed a big right and flurry that caused the referee to end the madness. The time of the stoppage was 2:56 of round one.
Kenneth Sims Jr. forced the action during a unanimous decision victory over Luis Rodriguez in the opening bout. Sims landed a low blow in round three and Rodriguez took his time in recovery. Rodriguez landed a big shot in the fifth that rearranged Sims’s mouthpiece.
It wasn’t enough as Sims won by scores of 60-54 twice, and 59-55. round, knocking the mouth guard off of Sims Jr. With the victory Sims moves to 6-0 with 2 KOs. Rodriguez drops to 3-3, with 2 KOs).
