On Friday, August 28th at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, King’s Promotions will present a boxing show highlighted by Brandon Bennett (19-1) against Jonathan Maicelo in a lightweight bout scheduled for ten rounds. In his last bout, Maicelo lost a twelve-round unanimous decision to Darleys Perez for the WBA interim lightweight belt on January 9th in Santa Ynez, California.

Bennett of Cincinnati, OH has a record of 19-1 with 8 knockouts. The 27 year-old has been a professional for seven years and won his first 16 bouts which included a win over John Nater (9-1).

Since suffering his only defeat, Bennett has won three in a row, highlighted with a with a win over previously undefeated Rodney Pierre-Paul and his last bout when he stopped Rondale Hubbert (10-1-1) in three rounds on May 29th in Philadelphia.

Maicelo of North Bergen, NJ has a record of 21-2 with 12 knockouts. He began his career in his native Peru in 2005. He racked up 17 wins. He has quality wins over Daniel Attah, Fernando Angulo and Art Hovhannisyan. that will feature some of the best prospects in the county that will also have a local flavor.

Scheduled to appear on the undercard in ten-round bouts (all opponents will be named shortly):

Super middleweight Phil Jackson Benson (15-2, 14 KOs); 2012 U.S. Olympian Jamel Herring (12-0, 7 KOs) of Cincinnati, OH in a lightweight bout and Robert Easter (14-0, 11 KOs) of Cincinnati, OH in a lightweight bout.

In eight-round Bouts:

Middleweight Demond Nicholson (13-1, 13 KOs) of Laurel, MD; welterweight David Grayton (11-0, 8 KOs) of Washington, DC; and middleweight Immanuwel Aleem (13-0, 9 KO’s) of Richmond, VA.

In six-round bouts: lightweight Raynell Williams (8-0, 4 KOs) of Cleveland, OH, a 2012 Olympian; lightweight Patrick Harris (6-0, 4 KOs) of Hyattsville, MD; welterweight Kareem Martin (5-0-1, 3 KOs) of Washington, DC; welterweight Jamontay Clark (6-0, 3 KO’s) of Cincinnati; and light heavyweight Leo Hall (6-0, 6 KOs) of Detroit, MI.
