In the co-feature of Adrien “The Problem” Broner vs Ashley “treasure” Theophane, Robert Easter Jr scored a devastating fifth round knockout over Algenis Mendez.
Easter Jr passed the litmus test in his step up fight against Mendez, a veteran fighter of 28 fights whose been in with big names.
Easter Jr landed an array of shots, punctuated with a big right hand that badly hurt Mendez. Mendez rose to his feet but was in no condition to continue.
Easter Jr moves to 17-0, 14 KOs. Mendez drops to 23-4-1, 12 KOs.
J’Leon Love used upper body movement and youthful activity to batter Michael Gbenga into a sixth round stoppage. Love, a Mayweather Promotions (and TMT) fighter, peppered Gbenga enough to cause Michael to stay on his stool and not answer the bell.
The official time of the stoppage was two seconds into round six. Love raises his record to 22-1, 16 KOs. Gbenga falls to 17-25, 16 KOs.

“My performance was okay. I could have done better, but I’m happy. I got touched more than I expected.
“Once I settled down, I knew I was going to catch him. I had to stay patient.
“Two boxers makes for a boring fight. I wanted to go in there and brawl, but be smart. I knew when I stepped on the gas I would put him to bed and that’s what I did.
“He was definitely the toughest opponent I have faced in a shorter fight. He is a former champ and he came in ready.
“This was a huge opportunity for me. Toledo, Ohio showed up tonight in DC and I’m just happy I got the knockout.”
