May 4, 2021 – Undefeated WBC Lightweight World Champion, Devin “The Dream” Haney (25-0, 15 KOs) discusses his upcoming fight with multiple division world champ, Jorge Linares (47-5, 29 KOs). The world title clash is scheduled to take place at the Michelob Ultra Arena at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, NV, on May 29, 2021.
Renowned boxing scribe, Steve Kim, goes in-depth with Haney and gets his thoughts on what he says is the toughest fight of his career.
Haney, who recently wrapped up his intense training with Victor Conte and Remi Korchemny, at the state-of-the-art facility in San Carlos, CA, tells his story on how he started training at SNAC.
“The first time that I ever came to SNAC, I was in training camp with Shawn Porter,” stated Haney. “I was fourteen I want to say. As time went on, I started to know Victor more and more. Training at SNAC is the whole package, whether it’s the recovery, the vitamins, the track workout, the weight cut protocol, it’s all into one, and that’s what makes it so strong. My best performances have come from training here at SNAC.”
“Linares has been at the top level as far as I can remember,” continued Haney. “He’s by far the best opponent up to date. I was happy that this was a fight that the boxing fans would appreciate. I’ve been calling for the top guys, the so-called top guys, and none of them is quick to jump in the ring with me. I mean you name them, and I’ve called them out, and none of them wanted to fight me. If you claim that I haven’t fought anybody it’s because they won’t fight me. Right now, we can’t jump ahead, the main focus is Jorge Linares.”
